Sierra Leone attacker Idris Kanu is one of 12 Vanarama National League players nominated for the 2021/22 Goal of the Season prize.
Kanu, 23, netted 11 times for Barnet in the just concluded campaign, and one of his goals against Wrexham has been in the spotlight.
The shortlist for the Vanarama National League Goal of the Season has been announced. The contenders have been whittled down to a final 12 with the following up for recognition.
The former Peterborough attacker, who has been called by the Sierra Leone head coach John Keister ahead of the African Cup of Nations matchday five qualifiers, can’t wait for the winner to be announced.
“I wish the goal contributed to the win, but I was happy to score such a goal,” Kanu told Football Sierra Leone News.
He featured in 44 games this season as he recorded 11 goals and five assists, helping his side to a playoff spot.
Kanu will be part of the Sierra Leone squad for Nigeria Cracker on June 18 in Liberia.
