Crossroad in rural landscape on meadow hill in sunset time
Dear Dr. Solution,
I left the shores of Freetown twelve years ago for greener pastures in the States. My girlfriend of four years had just given birth to our second son just before my departure.
I returned home last year for the first time to bond with my family. I apologized for the long absence and promised to relocate the family to the States. Upon my return to the States I filed the necessary paperwork; last month they were asked to have a DNA test in order to authenticate paternity. According to the DNA test results, it turned out that neither of the boys is my son.
I am embarrassed to even discuss the situation with my friends and family. My world is tumbling down, I have lost 15 pounds since I received the DNA results. The boys have known no other father but me. My love for them has not changed. My wife is reluctant to say who the actual father/s is. I am trying to breathe, but it’s hard. Please assist me.
